How much compession can you get by with in a supercharged (roots blower) iron headed engine? (using race fuel, no e85 or methanol)

Dang Josh ......... you ask those hard questions Rolling Eyes

I would say more than your stock block will contain. Shocked With race fuel compression could be more than practical.

My opinion is 10 lb of boost would do it..............With a charger capable of moving enough air at that boost level. My 331 cid Lightning is doing 500 to the rear tire on 14 lb with 200 cfm sissy heads and 8.5 :1 compression.

Should I look for a 8/71 or 10/71 gas blower unit for the 527cu (non stripped)

That question is above my pay grade, but I would guess a 10/71 would move more air and have a cooler charge.

And not be to big on a 527 inch engine.

Maybe some of the blower guys will enlighten us............ Cool

Good idea.
If my BBF Procharger deal doesn't work out, I am going to spray it a bit.
