I was going to ask the same thing. On the back side of the gasket you only really see evidence of the O-ring imprint real good between the cylinders, and almost none where the leak/blown-out areas are at. How far did the O-rings stand out of the deck surface Nick? Also what kind of sealing goop did you use & where they ever retorqued?

Lem, are these areas where his head gaskets leaked in the same general area where the extra head bolts are located at on the newer 18 bolt heads/blocks?


i used a product called yamabond and the o-rings were out about .012 .....

copper head gaskets don't seal for crap. But if you run any kind of boost then you need them. The other ones would just blow right out when you hit the boost.
