Mike,
That's mighty good at 4200 ft. Makes you wonder what it would do down at sea level air. I'm proud of ya', that's for sure! Keep up the good work

Re: My 548 c-headed combo
Thanks Charlie and Steve!
Unfortunately I had to sell the car as a roller and start all over again. They killed my class so I have to build a stock suspension car and run outlaw 8.5 or TT5. Outlaw 8.5 weight is 3150 N/A on the Hoosier 27" x 9" slick and TT5 weight is 2950 on a 29.5 x 10.5 and I get to spray it. Haven't decided on a class yet but i'm building the car for both. The car has already has gone 5.35 @ 132 mph in the 1/8 in that bad air @ 3200lbs. The record in TT5 is 4.87 so I do not know how close I can run to that 250lbs lighter and a 200 shot?? what do you guys think?

Mike,
At the 4.87 level, I honestly believe it is more about the suspension and getting great weight transfer, and getting the small tires to "hook". I believe you are making enough power, and it sounds like you'll be adding nitrous, so you'll have even more power. Will the 200 shot come from a plate system, or can you use foggers?

Re: My 548 c-headed combo
I was planning on using plates if I decide to run TT5. I was going to leave on the motor and hit it 100ft out and see if it will hold it. I will probably run the outlaw 8.5 on the motor to get a handle on the new chassis for now. It will be interesting to dial in the car without the aid of a wheelie bar since it is not allowed in 8.5. The race director said he wanted to keep the 8.5 class around the 5.50-5.40 range but I doubt that will happen. That Hoosier tire actually 9" wide and 27" tall so I do not think the tire will be the limiting factor for me. It's probably going to be the stock suspension and no wheelie bar learning curve.

Re: My 548 c-headed combo
Outlaw 8.5 at the valley use only MT 26 X 8.5's, not other tire is allowed. A low 6 second or high 5 second car used to be competitive a few years ago, but now they are getting into the 5.50's adn 5.40's

The combo was already in a fox body so I already have headers.
