The A460 blocks wiil accept a 10 or 18 bolt head .

It may sound like a stupid question, but for those of us newbies... what machine work would a guy need to be expecting if he wants to buy one of these and use it with a new rotating assembly... let's just say a forged 545 deal? I realize this is a very broad question, but just looking for a rough guesstimate for comparison purposes to prepping a passenger car 460 block.

I would think the A460 would possibly be less work. Either way, they need to be checked for the deck being square, crank bore alignment, and whatever overbore you desire.Your typical "blueprintng", so to speak. The normal cleaning processes would be the same for either and the A460 block wouldn't need any oiling modifications, given the priority oiling. Not to mention, the A460 will accept a lot more overbore than the passenger car block, plus it's just a lot more "beef"! Nice blocks, I like mine...
