What rear diff ratio?

I have a Mustang w/ a 429, C6 and a 9" rear. It's going to be a fair-weather cruiser, all street. Not planning any strip racing, but I want it to get up and go when I hit the gas. What ratio should I run in the rear? I was thinking 3.73:1 or something along those lines, but I don't really know much and am still learning. BTW, the rear is out of an Explorer (I believe, could be wrong) but I don't know what ratio is currently in there.

There is a tag on one of the 3rd member bolts that tells what ratio the rear is.

it the rear is out of an explorer...must be an 8.8
