What do you guys use or recommend? Most of the stuff that we do is CM in only about 3 or 4 sizes so that is realy all I'm concerned with.

I use a couple hossfeld number 2's one manual one hydraulic. I really like it. I have seen it in alot of chassis shops also.. So others like it also. There are alot of good brands out there. A hossfeld is a bit pricey. But you have alot of flexability

tubing bender

I use a JD2 manual bender with the degree wheel and I have the 1 3/4", 1 5/8", 1 1/2", 1 1/4" shoes in the 90* version and I have the 1" shoes with the 3.5" radius in the 180* version. I bent a piece of 0.120 wall 1" tubing and then sliced it to make an insert in the 1" shoes and I can also bend 3/4" tubing. I used the bender to bend all of the tubing in the following SFI25.3 chassis.

I have used the bender for almost 15 years without problems.

I've looked into the hossfeld and some others including the JD2 one. I really like the quality of the JD2 tubing notcher that we have.

I was just looking on YB and none really stand out some hate one while others love it.

thanks guys

I've got the Pro Tools 105. I've used the hell out of it and never had an issue. I started out using it manually, that got old quick so I switched it over to air/hydraulic setup.

I have an ancient early model manual JD2, had it about 20 years.

I think they were the first to discover the "correct" outer shoe design/layout using a slight amount of angle built into the shoe it's self (leading edge vs back edge) to aid the tubing better start the initial bend with less of an indentation from the inner die.

thought about a jd. Got my hossfelds at an auction. So I got them cheap compared to new. If new, I would have had to spend almost 18,000 for everything I have. Jd is definitely more compact.
