Got me a new 1150 holley ultra polished with billet blocks

Post  10SHOTS on June 17th 2011, 4:02 pm

this carb came with 92 jets and 5.5 power valves ,31 on the high speed air bleeds, whats up with that, seems like a lot of jet for power valves, i need to remove the power valves 92+ 10 sizes =102 , what do you guys think about this ?

You have it right. Because the PVCR's are a large .093" in most Dominator carbs, 8 to 10 jet sizes is the normal allowance for a power valve.

What im really asking is why so much jet, quick fuel 1150 comes with no power valves and 94 jets, this thing come with 92s and 5.5 power valves front and rear ., i would think if you buy a Race carb it would not have power valves at all . the PVCR's in this one is 82s

Just because Holley carbs and Quick Fuel carbs may LOOK somewhat the same doesn't mean they will be the same, as the internal sizes & specs are different.

I been messing with this carb for a few weeks and it runs good and plugs look good with 96 main jets ,no power valves, this carb runs pretty clean up the return lane compaired to the old style 1050 quick fuel .
