Thanks Dee. Mad

Since the cats out the bag...

Im in the process of freshening up the 521. Everything is staying pretty much the same with the exception of a new mechanical flat tappet cam, msd mechanical advance distributor and wife approved paint.

Along with a "positive" pregnancy test (expecting our first kid in January), Lauren had my 4150 TFS intake powder coated in cast silver metallic flake for Fathers Day.

Yup.

I hate to say it but the color is actually starting to grow on me. I really dont think it looks that bad and its certainly unique which I like. The last time this engine was dark green.

Whats a good way to clean aluminum heads without glass beading them? I heard someone say a quick dip in 5:1 water/muratic acid and then over to water/baking soda to neutralize the acid but Im rather skeptical. Anything else work?

Try some of the acid type wheel cleaner for non-coated cast wheels. That may be about the same as the mixture you're talking about. It works pretty good on intakes. Spray it on, brush it clean, rinse off.

would not use muratic acid it is to agressive. The mag wheel cleaner you can buy is a hydrofloric acid and can be rinsed off with water(same thing a a/c coil cleaner but not as concentrated), it seems to work very well on aluminum wheels, toll boxes and intakes when i have used it but wear a resperator or mask of some sort and rubber gloves when using!!!!!!!
