Gringing noise 04 F350????
Need some input from you tech guys. When I'm turning left at much speed I get a kind of grinding noise. I have jacked it up and there seems to be no play in the wheel bearing. The rotor surface is smooth on both sides. A few times when i have pulled into a parking spot with the wheels turned slightly left, I have gotten a slight vibration you can feel in the floor at idle. Other times it doesn't vibrate at all.????????
It's really starting to get on my nerves!
Just thought I'd see if anyone had a few Ideas on anything else I could look at before I take it to someone to look at.
Thanks in advance.

The wheel hub will make a grinding noise, but not for long....
Been there done that. Now there is a grinding sound on mine when you turn and it's the clutches in the rear diff. I'm going to try new fluid and friction modifier and see if that stops it.

4x4?
My 2008 has a sort of small "hop" to it when turning left with the wheel at full lock and turning slow. I think it's ball joints. I plan to drop it off later this week to get it looked at.

My Excursion started doing that about a week before the left hub went bad.

Alot of the Ford 4wd trucks in the 90's do the hopping deal when you cut it sharply to the left . I just figured it was normal.

The more I read this, does the truck have an aftermarket downpipe? 6.0?
..and if it does have then check the clearance between the downpipe and the floorboard, even if it looks to have some room you get it in a bind the chassis flex will let the downpipe contact the floorboard. You can loosen the clamp at the turbo, have someone pry the exhaust system over toward the engine and re tighten the clamp. Seen it happen many a time with the big aftermarket downpipes.
