Then again.....maybe somebody was putting the B.S. on him as to what he had in the engine... affraid

I'm not picking on you... just want to have some context to the use.

Which Howards? They have two different solid roller lifters for the 460. Their top of the line pin oiling "Pro Max" lifter is a Morel.

I do not know who makes the std Howards lifter.

Doug Herbert also sells the Morel pin oiling lifter under their "Total Pro" line. I have these in my 598. Not listed on their website. Paper catalog or PDF of the catalog. Page 23 part # HERT 5456. $560 Even has the same 5456 part # as listed in the chart on the Morel site.

Well I have the standard solid roller Howards and I believe they are made by Howards, Not sure of exact spring pressures engine builder's spring tester only went to 450# and they were at that around .400" lift. I believe that Howards quoted me 600#@.692 lift which is what my cam is rated at. Not saying they are top of the line but I wouldn't count them out as a good choice either. Maybe someone else would know I am running Congo Springs @1.900 installed.

Just to put some context to Craig's deal........he used the Crower .904" stuff for several years with good results with his C460 package. When he went to the Thor heads the intake lifters started to break.thus the move to Jesel .

That was all I was saying. After he got into a real need for the best, the Jesel's fit the bill quite well.

All the Thor head users that I know so far are using dogbone's (Jesel) or keyed (Jesel or LSM). On of them had the same problems before he switched to a 60mm camshaft with the Dogbone's.
