I think this joke is fine: COUNSELING - SOUTHERN STYLE
Earl and Bubba are quietly sitting in a boat fishing, chewing
Tobacco and drinking beer when suddenly Bubba says,
"Think I'm gonna divorce the wife - she ain't spoke to me in over 2 months."
Earl spits overboard, takes a long, slow sip of beer and says,
"Better think it over.............women like that are hard to find."
It is NOT intended to offend but you can argue it COULD OFFEND 1. Southerners, 2. Red Necks, 3. Psychologists, and 4. Women to say nothing of "Life Partners" male and female and maybe even folks who chew
Nick, yes, I poke fun BUT I'm also very serious and would like your take on it. Does the joke pass the OFFENDED test or not?
For 30+ years I had the unenviable task among my responsibilities of enforcing all of the Title VII and other fuzzy Federal, State and Local laws on the subject of discrmination (I was a corporate Human Resource Director). The laws per se were fine, it was what lawyers and their clients (employees) tried to make them into, especially when it came to what OFFENDED. Damn, if I learned nothing else I learned that is one slippery slope and if this website it going in that direction I'll have to spend my time on the 'puter elsewhere. 30 years was more than enough!
