As usual, Paul is a wealth of information.
There were also the Boss 429 Can Am forgings, though there are not many around and the cost to machine them from a raw forging is prohibitive.

forged truck crank
Good info to know Paul.
I have a crank that looks like a forging not a billet. It is a 3.85" stroke with 2.20" rod journals and has a Velasco stamp on it. So I am thinking it is the 429 forged truck crank re-worked by Velasco. I contacted them about 6-8 months ago and they said they don'y really do that kind of thing anymore nor did they keep any records or stamp any numbers on those type jobs. This crank was done in the early 90's for a specific River Jetboat class up here in Alberta that was limited to 470" or so. Now they said they offer only billets.
FWIW Mark

Then WHY,do guy's think it's such a big deal that they are running/or have one ForSale?
Because there are "buzz words" that set racers hearts all a-twitter.
Billet is one of them. I liked the old Childs & Albert "Forged from billet bar stock" especially well.
