Re: Hemi Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Shelby build
Ok, there will be a new, updated build thread coming as soon as I get motivated, but now that the car is actually at home in my garage I've been spending my time ogling it and working on it. Here are a couple of new pics:
Carbon fiber tranny tunnel
Not my wheel, but test fitting a 33/10.5W on a 16x16" wheel.
Reworked k-member, steering rack, and front suspension to in order to get the crank centerline down where it needs to be

Re: Hemi Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Shelby build
This started life as an ATI adapter midplate that mates a BBF to a GM transmission such as the TH400 or Powerglide. I've trimmed a lot of the excess material from it. In the first photo, only a small portion of material at the bottom of the plate (top of the photo) has been removed. The bottom photo shows the final trimmed plate.
I've removed the bracing from the underside of the factory hood. The motor sits low enough that there should be more than enough clearance to retain it. It was necessary to remove the bracing in order to make it compatible to mount the hood using dzus fasteners. The hood now only weighs 13 pounds after removal of 15 pounds of bracing. I should note that these cars come from the factory with aluminum hoods. I will have to fabricate a chrome moly tubular support to help reinforce it.
I've also been working on installing the lexan windows. There is a lot of labor hours involved in cutting and installing these. I'm using flat 1/8" lexan sheet.
Not exactly crucial to the performance of the car, but my OCD requires all details to be attended to such as trimming and reinstalling these door sill plates.

Re: Hemi Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Shelby build
I'd also like to say that I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Charlie Evans when he stopped by my house the other day to check out the car. Great guy!
