I'll call tomorrow. I told the guy to pass on this block but he thought it was to good of a deal. With a 3.5 stroke it would be close to 380 cubic inches out of an 8.2 block. We really wanted a 3.25 or 3.4 stroke. I have never had to upsize the crank journal. We run 302 mains on our 9.2 deck cup blocks.

I guess I messed up on my math thinking a longer rod wouldn't work. Please correct me if my thinking was off.

8.2 deck
3.4 stroke
5.4 rod
~1.1 compression height

8.2 deck
3.5 stroke
5.4 rod
~1.05 compression height

Obviously dependent on a lot more factors such as gasket thickness and actuall rod used. Please, I am not a pro and do not claim to be in this department. I am an assembler who doesn't turn down much work. Lol

Rollmaster already offers a timing set which fits that application.

yes they do , a stock type 302 timing set . as said a stock Clev crank must be cut to W specs

other set is for W snouts in a Cleveland block

5.4 rods ???

ALSO:
You can get a low cost 9000 series cast steel 2.750" main Cleveland crank from SCAT in either 3.85" or 4.00" stroke with 2.100" throws.
A 2.750" Cleveland main size 4340 forged Windsor crankshaft is available "out of the box" from Scat in either 3.50", 3.75", 3.85", 4.00", 4.100" or 4.250" strokes also having a 2.100" throw diameter.

Please check post number 1. 8.2 deck block.

Scat, probe, CHP, my engine builder, Bennett, Kuntz: that's my list who don't know what they are talking about I guess. lol!

a stock 351 C crank cut down to 302 pin size , at the same time destroke the crank. off the shelf rods can be had then . can tell you , crank must be internal balanced or it will take out #1 main & have a bent crank . good deals ! can cost more sometimes

that's what I am trying to tell the guy. Nothing is drop in and run in this deal. in an SVO block or dart or the world products block with standard journals this is an easy deal.

My mistake ... I was reading this as NINE.2" deck not an 8.2" deck.
I didn't even realize that an 8.2" deck was available with Cleveland main bearing sizes.

Didn't have time to make any calls today but may have a hit on a scat crank built to this block in world product specs. 3.47 stroke

In an 8.2" deck "World" block with 302 mains and 4.125" bore, I have used a Cleveland crank with reduced O.D. counterweights and cut down mains, (which isn't necessary for you), and offset ground stroke to 3.600" with Toyota rod sizes and 5.290" long SCAT rods with custom pistons for the smaller pin diameter. The CD at 1.11" was actually taller than a 347 CD at 1.09".
It was 385 inches but, looked like a 302 on the outside.
With this "World" block I wouldn't have needed to reduce the main sizes, LOL.

What about bearing spacers and a regular 302 stroker crank?

I don't know if they still make it but the old bearing kit was $599 plus the machine work to install it. I was told that it was not as simple as the chevy spacer kits.
