A460 block problems

A460 block problems

I have a new A460 block tried to check for main bearing clearance and all bearings fit except
for thurst cap and dowels wouldnt line up the bearings are clevite H just woundering if anyone
else has had this problem. If i need to use other type of bearing?? confused

Whats the.cheapest aftermarket block yoy can buy .that at least has a. 4.500 bore or larger?

Eliminator Sportsman Block, and he A460 are priced pretty similar.

the little notch in the block,and sometimes the cap need a little filing, i've seen this more then once,its no big deal,i use to file the bearing,now i do the block

As has been said ... a professional engine builder would probably just grind the slot in the block or cap to accept the bearing tang.

Your question about what's the biggest stroke you can put into a 460 block is in no way relevant to the original post, so - chill and create a new post to ask your question, or as was suggested - use the search function. relax, and enjoy - it won't hurt a bit.
