titanium retainers

I am going to be buying a new set tfs power port 290's (if i cant find any used heads anytime soon) and I was wondering how much bennifit ti retainers are.

In a race application,it's kinda like a really good insurance policy. And it also lightens up the valve train Smile

imo it's not a real racing engine if someone is using steel retainers.

Comp Cams does offer some real nice Machined Steel Retainers nowdays that are only a couple of Grams heavier than the TI stuff and about have the price of the ones they offer.

Manley does, too. (scalloped with holes drilled in them to get them near the weight of titanium).
For class racing where rules state NO titanium pats in the valve train, these are just what the doctor ordered.

Comp gets $150 for the light tool steel retainers.....the package from TFS that includes the Ti retainers is an additional $166....get the Ti. package from from TFS if you are willing to pay for an upgrade i.m.o.
