headers
Well let the fun begins 2-1/4" tubes going to 4" collector. For clearance they will be going up around the frame and then at the bottom runing along side the frame rail.
seats
after receiving one of the two seats i orginally ordered (sparco chrono roads) and they were not even close to the material that it shows on sparcos website, i returned them. I already had the sliding tracks and mounting hardware so i bit the bullet and ordered the sparco torinos. Went with the black and grey cloth.
Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
Well almost got one header done and managed to get the tubes total length with 1/2" of each other. Dad did some great work getting these things to go up and around each other to get the lengths this close. We have a guy that will be tig welding them up so we can get some nice pretty seams and then they will be off to get coated. See below threads as i have put the header progress photos below.

Well got the headers back from being tig welded up. I have to say my Dad did good work and Jessie does some great welding. we also had the inside of the tube meeting the header flange brazed to smooth them out, One more big piece down. We will be spraying them down with high heat paint for now, but after the dyno run in May, i will send them out for coating.

Well the day has come that we are ready to take all the big parts down to Ky. My Dad is getting a much needed break and a nice little road trip to visit Phillip and the rest of the Ky boys. The last i heard the block (A460), crank (forged), and the pistons are already there. My Dad will be taking some photos while he is down there and i will update with where it is in a couple of days. Phillip said the build should start in the first week of April.

Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
Dad took a little trip down to Ky to drop off some of the motor parts last weekend. He was able to see some of the parts that have been ordered for the build. i don't have the exact specs on everything, but the build is starting the first week of April.

exterior color
Dad was able to find the the paint code for the exterior and mix some of it up. The color is Lamborghini Monterey Blue and as you can see if flips pretty good. The reason for getting the test panels painted up now is we are having the block painted Subaru WRX blue and need to make sure they go.

Nothing cooler than a blown shotgun engine. What cubic inch are you building?

Thanks, it will be a 521. We're shooting for 1,000hp on 93 pump as it will be a 95% street driven car.

1,000 hp with an 8-71 on pump gas?
you will have to boost the hell out of the 8-71,,,,
On the street, that blower is gonna make a ton of heat to make those numbers, and I don't see a inter-cooler under that blower.

We will see in the next two months, but i won't be heart broken if it requires me to flip the pullies and on the street only get 850hp.

If you don't make 1000 hspr I will be shocked. If you made 800 N/A (which is not unreasonable) you would only need 4 psi boost to make 1000. One of my friends has built several blown BBF wedge motors that made 900 hspr on pump gas so with a hemi head it shouldn't be a problem.

Well the some parts came in and more on the way.
Competition Engeering Blue anodized set matches the exterior color dang close.
Should be about even with the rear bumper when installed.
We have done some adjusting to the shock tower hats as originally this was set up for factory control arms and not the fatman tubulars i have now. The hats needed to have some width taken out as the tubulars are a little skinnier.
we have also been doing some fab work to the front end. The frame rails are going to kick out (wider) after the mustang II suspension. We needed to do this not only to fit a nice wide radiator, but to better support the flip front end.
Ordered the air conditioner condenser last night so we can start working on the fan shroud. I am running two titan electric fans that put out 2200cfm each with each only pulling 6 amps.

Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
The two years I ran my Boss 9 in EMC @ 432" N/A on (10.5 & 11.5:1) Pump Gas we made anywhere from 680 hp to 740 hp
I'd think a 1000 hp with some boost (7- would be pretty realistic @ 521"

Thanks Dave, that's some good news seeing a fellow boss motor making those numbers. The mad scientist are working on it, so i have total faith they will be able to create some impressive numbers!
Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
I have been real busy and just noticed this post. Some delays with some part manf. has not helped for sure. Everything will be fine. Things will come together real soon and you will have plenty of power. Very excited about this build and trying to make sure we make great decisions and choices.

can't wait for dyno day...going to be one loud s.o.b....even on the car we're running 4in through borla xr-1's and it will poke out before the rear tires.
I'm heading back stateside and should be back in the states Monday, so it will be nice relax for a bit before coming out there.

heads porting
Well i received a phone call today from Charlie on the porting work. The one head is complete and the other is close behind and should be done in the next day or so. The one head was put on the flow bench and i'm sure Charlie will chime in with the results.
Re: Blown boss 9 66' Fairlane
Guys,
In the pictures that Don has posted, they are Boss Nine hemi heads from Kaase Racing and are really nice. In the topmost picture, the head on the top has not been ported, and the bottom one has. Then in the second picture, the head on the left has not been ported, but the head on the right has. All the rest of the photos are of the ported head.
Because this is a blower motor, I am just lightly going over the intake ports, and I roughed up the floor of the intakes with a mounted point (from Cylinder Heads Abrasives in CA), knowing that this engine is a street engine with part throttle driving on the schedule. The intakes have a 2.300" valve and really good mid-lift flow numbers. They peak out at about 420-425 cfm on our "tight" flow bench. I did work on the exhaust a good bit harder and they go to 315-320 cfm without a test pipe. The exhaust valve is 1.900".
Hope this helps,
Charlie Evans
