if you have a custom piston that has a .400 top ring land and a .200 second ring land. will this piston be taller from the top of the piston to the bottom of the skirt than a piston with a .290 top ring land and a .145 second ring land. ????????

You would think it would , but it will depend on the piston manufacturer and design. No guarantee you will need to call.
