Hey guys...I'm new here and here are the specs to my last sbf build. My goal is a 532 BBF but this is what I have for now. Stock early windsor block that is .030 over...studded,line honed, zero decked and I threaded the freeze plugs for screw in type...pain in the butt without proper equipment. The rotating assembly is a forged eagle crank that is internally balanced...GRP aluminum rods...weisco small dome pistons with casidiam wrist pins. The compression will be in the ballpark around 13:1. I'm running ported 351 cleveland closed chamber iron heads with ferrea pro series ss valves, psi pacaloy dual springs with 230lbs seat and 730lbs open. Running a crank trigger. SS 1.73 rockers,7/16 studs with a girdle,3/8 .080 wall pushrods. Billet rollmaster timing set and a billet roller cam...not sure which cam to run as I have 2 of them. Comp cam billet roller dur at .050 268int .765 lift...dur at .050 285ex .748 lift on a 110 icl and lobe sep 110. The other cam is a doug herbert billet roller dur at .050 265int .731 lift...dur at .050 276ex .714 lift on a 104 icl and lobe sep 108. Any advice on which cam I should use...I plan on spinning it 7,500-7,800 if I have to. I'm running a motorsport single plane hi-rise intake that I modified to fit my heads. The carb is a 4150 based 1000 cfm AED. I have a c-4 with a pro-tree transbrake and a ATI 8 inch 5,500 stall converter...the rear is a 9in ford with the strange pro iron third member...35 spline spool and axles...4.88 gear with m/t 28x10.5 slicks. The car is a 1990 foxbody with 10 pt cage...tube k-member...team z coil over kits with tube a-arms...upper and lower double adj teamz control arms...anti-rollbar...strange adj front and rear shocks...aerospace comp disc brakes...car weighs 2750 with me. I mainly do 1/8 racing and just as a hobby for fun, lol. Feel free to critique my combo and any advice would be helpfull...thanks

First cam on the spray would work best and the second cam would work best on motor.

Thanks...I have been told the first cam to run the bottle. I'm thinking of running the second one...I'm worried about running nitrous with the stock windsor block.

It's a crap shoot. I have ran one in the low 6's @ 3000 lb. and never had a problem several years.

Some guys on here split blocks at a good bit lower hp range.

You will just have to make that call yourself. Look at what you have in it to lose, and what it would cost to up grade.

When I tore the one down I built everything was fine , but the 400 M crank had hair line cracks on the fillets on every crank pin. So I went back with an after market block and 4340 Eagle crank.

I hear ya...I don't have alot in this build...probably 3k...mostly used parts that no one wants, lol. I just want it to last all of next yr while I gather parts for my big block build. My wallet is thin so I buy everyone's used parts, lol.
