13.5cr alum cobra jet 466

The initial timing was at 50 unless the light was wrong and put it at 18 it spit back, wouldnt even crank then put it at 30 and it cranked easier than the 50. What's going on here? Thanks for any info.

Balancer may have spun on the hub

MSD and the number one on the cap is at like 9 or 10 o'clock. And it's not locked out and still has stock springs.
The piston at top dead center matched up with the pointer and the zero on the balancer.
It's a fluidamper.

I agree with Dave, you certainly don't want or need 50*...

Do you have a start retard of any kind,,,add on or built in your ign box?

Might try another light for a second opinion also.

if you run it at 50* you'll have problems.

This is a motor that belongs to a fellow i know. I kinda stepped in on what somebody has already been working on. And is there any instructions on how to lock out a msd dist.
