After 20+ years of assorted kidney stones of all sizes, and a couple of years ago a big toe with gout for about a month, I can tell you that kidney stones win hands down as the most excruciating pain. Mad Mad Mad Mad

I dealt with the gout pain well enough buy eating aspirin like candy. But for the stones only Morphine in the emergency room is strong enough to kill the pain. Then if you don't pass the stone in the emergency room they send you home for the "wait and see if it will pass" treatment & only give you damn near useless Vicodin for the pain. Vicodin will knock the edge off the pain a little, but it really isn't strong enough to kill both the stabbing pain & the pressure pain of a stuck/slow moving kidney stone.

Hope you have a quick recovery Blake.

Dave I have had a stone also, And hell I would hate to have to live off the difference of the two. I guess the length of time I had to deal with this gout may have been what made it so bad. I was over the stone in a couple of days, and I was at home to boot , thursday through Sunday at the track was rough.

Thanks Dave, I'm almost good to go now.

The gout? From here it looks like Blake is suffering from a case of the ugly but thats about it. Laughing

Pain meds are pointless to me and Ive had them all. They either knock me on my @ss so that I sleep for a week or they are like eating Flintstone vitamins. Vicodin is good for headaches and stubbed toes.

Take care Blake.
