What stall would you recommend? Glide, flat top 514 with P-51s. Probably north of 700HP, Backhalf Fox body, 32x14s, 4.30 rear gear, 4 link. Hoping for about 3000 lbs with me in it.

Any recommendation would be appreciated. I have an 8" that went 4600 on the brake in the dragster but it'll be too small of diameter for the door car. Probably need a good 9-9.5" deal.

Think the 8" would even be suited for making a few hits? Or would I just blow through it?

8" might be little loose for a hit of Mr. Frosty..... Best to talk with Lenny or convertor guru of your choice.

I'm getting this thing together and the last two major items I need are a converter and a driveshaft. Never been down the track yet. Prob keep it around 7000. The Stang is an easy 1000 lbs more than the dragster weighed. Just wondering if it would be worth trying to see where it's at and how much it would need to be tightened up... Or if it would blow through it too much to even try.

if you have it give it a roll, I'm thinking it will get you in the mid 5000's in the heavier car, but won't be good for a NO2 hit at all.

Hi , I would think a 9.5 or an S98 type would work very well with that engine set up. I would probalbly have it stall at approx. 56-5800 with the PG as you do not have too much 1st gear ratio to get it moving, and the PG is a little more converter sensitive than a 3 speed, and depends on stall to get it going. The 8" may work in your set up with the PG, if configured correctly to compliment your combo also. The devil is in the details and variables of your particular combo. If you need to discuss it further, you can reach me at the shop during the day. I would be more than happy to go over all your details with you and get your input before giving you some options that would work for you.

Thanks Lenny,

It's still a few months away at least before it hits the track. Probably spring time. I'll run the 8" I have and I have access to a 9.5 that a friend has. But once the first few shakedown passes are done I'll need to get one built just for this combo.
