Good advice on the Badlands 12K winch from Harbor freight. Just installed mine this weekend into the new trailer. Works great. The wireless remote is the ticket. Here are some pics. I installed it and the battery inside a toolbox from Lowes. The step in the tool box kept the rollers hidden underneath and out of the way.

Something that will help down the road. Put some dielectic grease on the prongs of the remote plugin. For some reason they want to corrode badly. I didn't and had a heck of a time getting them cleaned up so it would regain constant contact. Great winch though.

Thank for the info Rick I will get some dielectric grease and keep in the trailer for the plug. Just got to get the truck to stop faster now just ordered another master cylinder to see if that will help these brakes has been kicking my butt.

I shortened the cable on mine. After unspooling a few times it barely will fit back on the spool.

Yes i agree the 90ft cable is overkill and a real pain in the ass to spool all the way up...i plan on shorting mine for that exact reason.

Whats good about that deal though,is you can cut in half and you've got a xtra cable when one starts fraying.
