no low end torque

Hello I have a question about a stock 1971 429 with dove c heads stock cam ,edelbrock perfomer intake , a new 600 edelbrock carb from a 750 holley dp,70000 mi, good oil pressure clean engine, good compression, good vacuum but absolutley no low end at all could it be in the intake my other 429 exactly the same year an car had much stronger low end torque what could it be any ideas. THANKS

Probably, the cam timing is retarded so "degreeing-in" the camshaft would maybe help a bunch.

Check and make sure the dist. is in fact advancing correctly. If not,it will be very sluggish and most likely pop back thru carb under hard acceleration.

its a stock 280 gear but so was the other car and it had stong torque down low , i did replace the advance an its working ,

its geared high 280 but so was the other car an it had alot of torque down low , ? ps im new to this so bare with me thanks
