To answer your question Roy.....yes they are legal.... here is my take on bias ply tires they work great on a stick car I mean really good and take a lot of the shock from the suspension but at the same time they like to really wobble on the big end I would also use a tube with them.

Now for the radial get it hot and hit it hard they like it and a lot better stability up top in the mph and work good with stick or auto it will just take a little more work with them and a stick car.

This is just my experience with them and what I have found running them on different combos.

if the track is radial prepped the bias tires will not work very well. I'm sure people make them work but they are not ideal at all. My MT rep says those are being discontinued anyway.

Not meant as a post hijack seems relevant to the posts, which brand of drag radials are the hitters running, or not running and why? More interested in track performance, than street duty as the radials already have better street manners.I have been running the M/T's but on regular slicks I have had the best hook with the Hoosiers, there are size limitations out there if you are looking for specific sizes also.

This. The ones who refuse to use these are simply behind the times. The old style radials are complete garbage as compared to these new pro tires

I got the front struts full loose...rear single adj shocks on 10 of 14. 18.5 lbs tire pressure and 4000 chip. Convertor flashes to 6000.
Leafspring and caltrac setup.
Any advice from you fellas while im still at the track?

loosen the rear shocks.  single adjustable adjust the extension.  you want it to extend.  and move the caltracs up a hole on front.  for your ride I would have it all the way up. and if you have any power taken out throw it all back in.

We loosened the rear shocks and lowered the tires to 17lbs. It hooked great and went 1.42 60ft. Thats a person best to date by .10!
Im sold on the radials now!
3rd and final pass I lowered the leave to 3000 just to see how it responded and it went 1.48 60'.
Next time out im hittin it w 5000 and lookin for a 1.3 somethin 60ft. Smile
Got some solid info now to baseline from. Really happy w the results today w my heavy ol street truck!

I have to stay on the phone always. Email, forums, & calls. Thats how you get and keep customers. Remember I feed my family doing this it's not just a hobby.

Plus, we broke a ring gear in X car last night and just lost in quarters in mx235. Now it's time to load up and get the heck out of here.

is it possible to hit the pros too hard? if so, what would the symptoms of that be? by no means do I think that's what I'm doing. I'm just wanting to know how much harder I can hit them then I am now?

you're hitting them too hard when you smoke them before you move. other than that keep hitting them harder.
