Engine is finally in the truck & running.

Now I just need to get it to the track and get some seat time.

That run was Naturally Aspirated (All Motor).
I've got a single stage N2O plate kit on it, BUT,... I have not used it with this new engine.

Want to meet up at MP Dragway for some match races? We could ask the tower to set us up on a .500 Pro Tree since your truck and my car are setup that way. Side by side bottom 9 second passes

Red, Russ, and myself would probably come up if their cars are ready when you guys decide to do it.

That would be freakin' awesome!!! I'm thinking Saturday March 25th which is a Saturday T&T at MP Dragway. Some of my old friends want to have a "Reunion" at the race track where we run our cars down the track, grill out, tell lies about how fast we were back in the day etc...
If you guys would prefer an actual race day then the following weekend in April would work. Maybe we should start a new thread so Keiths doesn't get off track

Re: My 598 TFS A-headed build
Well,....
A little over 4 years ,.....and this Ol' Jet-Boat Bob power-plant is still going strong.
BUT,....
I have been tossing around the idea of refreshing (re-doing) it over the winter. One thing that has crossed my mind,.....is lowering the compression considerably (somewhere around 11:1),....so I could run it on pump gas,....and actually drive it some on the highway,...and compete in some local True-Street events.
Also,.....I'd like to throw more N2O to it,....when I do take it to the track. I'm currently hitting it with a 100 shot (NX plate kit). Plan to upgrade to a Fogger,...in the 300hp range.
My biggest concern,....is how much HP/TQ I'm going to be giving up,...by doing this?
I'm thinking that,... with enough head porting,.....and an RPM increase,..... I should be able to get real close N/A,....to where it now,.... which is 995hp @6500 / 860tq @5900.
I know I'm looking at the very minimum,....a new set of pistons,.... and a different Cam / Lifters. Probably upgrade to better set of Rods while I'm in there.
Thoughts,.... ?

Re: My 598 TFS A-headed build
My thoughts:
Some head and intake porting will certainly help and get hp peak a few rpm higher. Camshaft change? Perhaps could help as well.
Lowering compression will take away some torque - but 300 hp nitrous will more than make up for the torque loss.
Fantastic looking truck

Curious as to what you ever did with the converter on this deal. Did you send it in and loosen it up to 200 above torque peak? Say 6100 or so?
