New project..... A buddy of mine asked me to help
Him build a 10.0 second fox body complete for $10,000.

Requirements are N/A and E85 so far......

Should be interesting.

Starting with nothing, or using parts that are sitting around?

Car is starting from scratch.

Engine is a combo of scratch and a some stuff I have, heads and rotating assembly being 2 major parts I have gathered up over the last year or so.

Trans is a C6 and convertor I have.

But the total cost will reflect me selling stuff to him at reasonable market rates.

Do whatever you gotta do to make the CAR and drive train right. Then use whatever the leftover money for the engine.

That's kinda the plan,

First 4 things are the car are going to be.

1) Suspension and rear end upgrades

2) Cage and Seat Belts

3) Fuel System

4) Wheels and Tires

Short Block is almost done.

D1VE Block .030 over and 0 decked (Machine work by Billy)
Stock Crank 10/10 (From Darrin)
Set of used SCAT H-beams (from Karl)
Set of Used L2334-030 domed forged pistons (From Darrin)
Used Custom solid roller cam and Lifters (Cam from Karl, Lifters from Mike)
Double roller timing chain (Had Laying Around)

Looks like the compression will work out to about 13.9:1 or so....... I hope E85 is up to it !

After I get this assembled over the next few weekends, I need to finish the reporting work on the heads I bought back from Karl Jett.

Dave, we went on a 40 mile car cruise, burned 10 gallons of Sunoco 112 @ $13.00 per gallon. E85 sounds like a fine idea. maybe run cooler ? Engine has 250 lbs cranking compression .

How much better did they flow? I know that cam with those heads on a flat top 466 worked really well, cant wait to see how much better with more compression! Twisted Evil

Dave,
I have a set of wheels for sale, if they will work for you.

Fronts, 15x4 Convo-pros, 5x4.5 bp, with 23x5.0x15 Goodyear front runners.

Rears, 15x15 Convo-pros, 5x5 bp, with 33x16x15 Goodyear slicks.

I thinks I have all the open lug nuts for them, and I have 2 narrowed 35 spline Dutchman axles with the 5x5 bp, for a 9" laying around also.

Lots of other misc stuff laying around, new and used. I'm only a few miles from where Darrin lives, if you want to look at them.

Rick
