Good old wrecking yard............

Post  bowsher21 on July 25th 2014, 1:55 pm

I have a road trip 8/1/14 from Chicago to Allentown, PA. via Interstate 80 to deliver a car. I would like to make a stop at a good old wrecking yard in the hopes to find parts for my 1972 LTD. So, question is.

Anybody know of wrecking yards known for having an excellent selection of old cars in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsilvania OR OTHER STATES? I'd like to see a thread with the names of of the yards in just about any state. I think it would help many people building vintage cars of any make and model.

I Might have empty trailer for the return if I don't find a 72 LTD parts car?

Name, number, location? Might be worth a swing down to the south, I'll give them a call.

If you don't find anything you might find it at the All Ford swap on Thanksgiving weekend in Columbus. I run into a lot of stuff on my car crushing runs.Shoot me a pm for anything specific and I will keep my eyes peeled.

parts or car needed

Post  bowsher21 on July 26th 2014, 9:40 am

Parts needed for my 1972 LTD. 1971 will work for most parts.

Gage cluster lens,
window crank handels,
1972 only/rear bumper with good chrome / no dents,
dark red seats,
am/fm 8track radio,
LTD roof side bages,
cruse control device located on drivers fender.

Thanks for watching out in your area and adding to the list of "Good Old Wrecking yards"

By me, there is a yard called "Bills Speed Supply" Joliet, IL

I wish you luck for sure. Around here, several years ago when scrap prices went through the ceiling, anything that wasn't considered "collectible" went to the crusher.

I might have the Radio. Does your car have a 351W in it?

Radio? AM/FM/8Track? cheers  If you could, please send a pic to my email below.

My car has the 400 Cleveland/C6 in it. All fresh now with new intake, cam, carb, ported heads into 2-1/2" pipes out the back.
