Mid-Michigan Motorplex opening T/T Empty Mid-Michigan Motorplex opening T/T

Opening day for Mid-Michigan Motorplex on Sunday. Supposed to be mid 60's and sunny. We'll make the pull and see if the winter changes pan out. Local track, Northern Michigan Dragway wont be open for testing till May 2, still waiting for the frost to come out. waaahooo !!!

Good luck,track i usually go to was supposed to be open Saturday but all the rain this week made them decide not to open.

Different Randy but, The name for is one for me ... it is difficult for me to think of that place called anything but Central Michigan Dragway.
These days I just call it Stanton.

The first day back is always "interesting". The first two passes needed both lanes. Good thing they were single runs.
SO, got that figured out messing with tire pressures. No chassis adjustments were made over the winter.
Trying a SV1 carb and 3.89 gears.
Ended up running (3) 6.15's 1/8mi with 9.72's 1/4 mile times. All numbers within a coupla thousands. Not too bad for "boat gas" and old plugs.
I was really hoping for better 1/8mi times, looks like I better go back to the 4.10 gears. 1/4mi rpm was only 6200.
Weather was great, coulda done without the wind.

You gotta wonder when there's a 10 to 15 mph head wind. Why make a track that goes into the west? That may have been a useless test for comparison unless there's a wind formula to convert it .
I remember you running 6.1s at US-60.

If it sucks out the back window ....... does it mean ya need a spoiler ??? Or better attached windows.
Then the line lock failed, so back to foot-brake burnouts.
Then the trailer brake controller failed, so used the manual function (good thing it worked) for the way home.
Then the right rear axle seal failed on the truck, so I wont havta paint the trailer tongue this year. Paint probly wont stick to 90W anyway, huh ?
Geez, I love this time of year !!!

No doubt about that Randy. Stephen and I went down there this past weekend. Car went pretty much as expected and very pleased with it sofar. 7.20's in the 1/8 spinning horribly and the trans does seem to slip a little into 3rd. I also ha e a little more weight to pull out of the car. I think its got 6.9x's in it. I'll be working to get trans out here in the next  week or 2.
