Larry Conolty goes 4.50's @ 155 mph

today on motor at Beech Bend. He had two time trials and lasted three rounds of eliminations. For those that don't know the Conolty brothers they are drag boat racers and long time friends of Lem, Phillip and myself. This American Racecars dragster is a new adventure for them, and is only his third or fourth time out racing the car. His engine is a C-460 headed deal with a 2 X 4 tunnel ram set-up. Larry is an ex-football player that is solid over 300 lbs., so it takes some grunt just to move him. All in all, they were pleased with the day
