we have a local class called stock block, its a fun class with certain rules , there is 3 classes , NA-PA- BI(natural aspirated-- power adder--big inch) the na and pa class are 360ci or smaller, the BI class is 470ci or smaller..small block can run aftermarket heads and big blocks have to run factory heads, all cars 10.5 or smaller tires, no ladder bars 4 links, i finished 3rd in points, was 1# qualifier 1 time went the the finals 2 times, we had the last race of season this past weekend in mokan , i went the the finals and brung home $290
i have most of the field covered in my class (BIG INCH)JW timmerman has a fast BBF mustang and is faster then me,(393w small block) my car does well for having the smallest motor in the class and smallest tire on bone stock suspension, i feel if i had full race suspension on my car i could hung with him, he runs 10.40-50 range(450ci) ,I had a absolute blast in this class, here is the final race between jw and me, i am in the silver car

From what I got out of what you are doing, you are doing it well.

A 414 "Clevor" would be the way to go with those rules you've posted.

Randy, why a 414 over a 427 "Clevor" I get the Alum head and RPM advantage but...I am guessing it has to do with when and how the low end torque comes in to play with the suspension woes? and guessing you already have the blueprint Cool

And for the PA class a worked CJ headed 466" -469" with a progressive controller and a DP kit?.

the B.I class is a all motor class, we can use a Cleveland head but has to be factory iron

I thought you said that B.I. small block engines could use aftermarket heads ... I am guessing that rule is only applicable toward SOME small blocks.

Getting more than a 4" stroke in a small block would only add torque by having a lower limit on RPM, not much more horsepower, if any.

we can use aftermarket heads that are aluminum or cast iron or we can use a Cleveland head but it has to be a factory iron head, no aftermarket Cleveland style heads on the sbf
