Full length zoomie headers vs collector headers

Post  460pulling on January 2nd 2016, 11:49 am

Would zoomie headers that exit in the fenderwell lose power versus fender well headers with collectors on a n/a 521 ci engine in a pulling truck. The tubes are almost exactly the same length before the collector and they are both 2-1/4 diameter primaries.

Just trying to get some insight before I purchase the zoomies. I like the sound and look but performance is the name of the game. Thanks

Longer "ZOOMIES" may actually give you a little more maximum power however, in a very narrow RPM range only.
In other words they would need to be EXACTLY right for your combination; headers with a collector simply need to be close.
