What amount of valve lift will your valve springs allow...?

That's a good question. I also don't know what piston to valve clearance would be with that cam either.

The engine has been balanced, ARP rod bolts, headers, 850 Holley, that pretty much it.

90% of these cars are pushed on and off trailers at car auctions so there's not much info on

Any kind of performance mods for a stocker. The builds you see in magazines are usually  Kasse strokers that aren't much use to me.

Randy

If you don't know those things then I would have something custom ground to be near OEM lift and duration but, with a bit more aggressive lobe profile.

and the dur would be lost as well

The factory Lobes are nowhere near as aggressive and its a stock B9 not a race car. I'd bet the modern cam is worth at least 20-30hp and would still be nice and drivable.

never had race car in mind, I just want it to run good for the op

I could mock the engine up with the stock cam and check p2v clearance.

That should show me what I could get away with, right?

Yes...It may be off topic but it sounds like the heads are off...do they have hardened seats?

They come with stellite seats from the factory, so your good to go with unleaded fuel.
