as far as of updates ,

engine is ready to go in car with trans , im just waiting on my engine diaper i had made custom from DRE to fit may pan ( was 4 week lead time)
my local track to me is NHRA and they were cracking down on engine diapers this year so i had to get one

scaled car

without me in it 2680 lbs
with me and helmet and gas in tank 2881

Gutted factory dash and door panels , full cage mild steel .....fiberglass hood .
factory aluminum bumpers and have all glass in car
strange brakes and racecraft spindles though with tube k member

with that weight and 649 hp should go 9.70s -9.80 range , cars getting an alignment and chassis setup at shop for a good baseline and will be testing in October


I just hope i dont have to much gear (4.10) 28 inch tire

another thing we did was the bumpers were tucked , fairmonts bumpers stick out like a shelf .

i feel going through the traps at 6800 rpm was to much
felt from after 6500 the power was not there any more or wasnt pulling any harder

i have 4.10 gear

shifted at 6400
transbrake was 4400

may look at going to a 29 inch tire or shifting earlier

i will be slowing up to run 10.00 index

Epping, i would guess? Did they give you a "talking to" or do you already have a license and chassis cert? Embarassed
The change to a 29" tire should get you down to around 6500, hot weather will bring it down even more. Good job. Cool

chassis is cert to 8.50
my im good to 10.00 and they didnt say anything
going to leave it alone im sure it will slow down in heat , and im going to use ez plate to restrict it

Overall happy not bad for solid lifter cam in a dump truck motor lol

Don't restrict the intake side ... use whatever needed header collector reducers for the limiting factor.

You should go though the 1/4 mile traps at about 400 to 500 RPM higher than the preferred shift point; looks good.

thanks guys felt good

only concern i have if my rear tires are hoosiers stiff sidewall 28x10.5 and there 3 piece holeshots with rim screws ....slicks no tubes left pit made pass at 12lbs back to pit they are at 9-10 lbs , usually if anything you gain tire pressure

So i have to look into it see if i have a leak at the seam

using vp113
with just a breather tank

if i go to q16 , and a vaccum pump i really wonder if i could get into the 9.50 index class at my local track instead of slowing all the way to 10.50 index


whats your guys thoughts on my time slip ?

my convertor flashes at 5200 and i launched the 9.77 at 4200 off transbrake ....i know i need to go higher on launch

Keep testing with higher RPM launches to see if you can improve on those times. You are much closer to 9.50 than going back down to 10.50!! LoL.

its going to be a long winter have the itch
would love to be able to run 9.50 index but i know to be be able to compete i would probly need to run 9.30s , and i cant see that happening without some big changes.

may try a non stiff sidewall slick at some point

was tossing idea of a tfs mafia intake vs my viktor , but not sure i would gain and dont want to spend that if i gained nothing
