FORD 1970-71 429 CJ / SCJ ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS

HERE'S A SET OF ORIGINAL 1970 / 71 429 COBRA JET - SUPER COBRA JET. THESE HAVE THE D1 PART NUMBER. THEY'VE BEEN SITTING ON THE SHELF FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I HAVE CLEANED THEM UP WITH SOME ALUMINUM POLISH BUT COULD USE SOME MORE. ONE OF THE OIL DEFLECTORS NEED A TACK WELD. What a shame, I had a set of them - the butt head that owned them before kept tightening the bolts to stop the oil leaks until he cracked every ear on the bottom side of the covers! Even after installing new gaskets, the still leaked because of the cracks. I let them go for $20.00 - too bad.

You are killing me Wayne. My kid can weld at least as good as Daddy Dave I bet and could have practiced on them.

Supervel45: when I got those valve covers, I didn't realize what their value would be in another 40 years. Like a lot of guys, I made my share of mistakes, and that was one of them. At the time I sold them, I actually felt guilty of taking advantage of the guy!
