Rocker design for P51 heads.

Post  FORDMUD on April 21st 2016, 11:26 am

Which of the stud mount rockers fit the best on P51 heads in a solid roller application about .8 lift? I'm considering the Crower stainless steel. Would the 1.8 be any problem, to get a little more out of an existing cam.

Randy Moore's 562" engine had 1.8/1 SS Crowers on the intake side.....seemed to work good.

Did y'all use the crane on his exhaust for a fitment issue? Was there an issue with the crowers?

Yes, used Crane on the exh. Just wanted more lift on the intake .

Comp 1830-16, (Ultra Pro Magnum™ XD) here on my P-51s now.

I had the older Comp's and the rocker body didn't have enough clearance around the adjusting nut to allow for max lift. Rocker body was also close to the retainer as well.

The blue FRPP's (Crane) I had on there the first time fit with no issues as well.

The Comp XD rockers can be had in 1.8/1 ratio too.
