First race of the season Empty First race of the season

Post  BigRigTech May 27th 2016, 9:21 am

It's finally our first race weekend of the season, the time is here to try out all the new Team Z suspension parts, Wilwood disc rear brakes and 275 drag radials. The car has Strange SA struts and shocks now too. We scaled and set up the car last weekend, 3023lbs with the driver and 2 batteries in the trunk. 57.84% weight on the nose. I'm still skeptical about the fender lips rubbing on the tires on the launch even though well rolled them and my buddy say's it won't...LOL...He runs a turbo SBF convertible fox body in the low 8's with the same setup outback with better shocks. I'm bringing the stock rear springs with me too just incase. I've been thrashing on the car and my F250 for 2 weeks now. Lots of late nights. Rolling Eyes I put new up-pipes, a 4" MBRP exhaust kit and triple Autometer pillar gauges in the truck. I went to install my used superchips tuner and it wouldn't let me..."this file is not stock" was the message so it must have a tune in it now. Mad...I'm gonna' bail at 2pm from work so I can be ready to take a foot brake test pass at 6pm. Very Happy

Got 3 runs in tonight, best was a 10.11 with a 1.45 sixty leaving at 3200 on the brake. No tire rubs and the new rear disc brakes are awesome. I tried 3600 in the 2 step for the 3rd pass but it blew the tires off...Very cold track and I think I rolled out of the burnout too soon. I'm loving these drag radial pro's so far, she drives like its on rails. Very Happy
