Paup this may be a stupid question but will these work as a direct replacement for a traditional 6.8 rod. I have a 605 with a 4.5 eagle crank and rods.  My plans are to step up to better quality stuff at my next freshen up. I don't want to get into anything that that requires extreme custom work from crank/ piston stand point. If they meet that I would like to have a set. I will talk to my engine builder.

If you have a zero-decked NA combo and were to simply replace your current rods with these (no other changes), then you'd need to fly cut your current pistons 0.050" and rebalance your rotating assembly.

In the case of going with an entirely new setup then, yes, you can put together whatever you want.  You could use a shelf Diamond piston part number and request a single change (pin location) when ordering.  This barely affects cost and you gain with a rotating assembly with a far superior set of rods.
