Power to be gained Empty Power to be gained

Have a set of these to be swapped on to my 545. Also changing to a Victor intake and will be changing cams at the same time of course.. My question is do you think its worth it to have the heads worked on before I do this? Is there a lot of power being left on the table from these out of the box. Now I know the cam needs to be done based on head flow.... but if spending the 750-1000 on having them ported will be worth 50+ HP or something then I'd do it ya know...If not... not sure I'll spend that money.

Coupe,

The 325's are at a point out of the box that very little gain can be gotten out of them by porting.

Charlie Evans and myself had a hand in that head development. Your looking at basically a Dove oriented head flowing Ported SCJ flow numbers.

What had to be done to get there , I feel won't leave much to be gained by porting.

Might find something in valve jobs and valves.

I have to have these fixed (dropped a valve). BUT I got them cheap enough that having them fixed will be worth it to me to be able to run a better head than my stock D0VE's and loose some weight off the front end. Its not an all out max effort car so I think I'll have these fixed and run them as is. Taking 75 lbs off the front of the car has to help some, plus they have to make a little more power.

Cam it right and you will gain a good bit of power with them.

Like Dfree said, make sure the intake valves are back cut and that you have a good multi angle valve job on them too.

Yeah, I'm going to have the machine shop completely go through them. New valves, springs matched to cam, and do a custom cam for these and the Victor thats going on when it comes time to swap. Thanks fellas.
