Cam? Empty Cam?

HI! I have yet to crack my engine open.Can anyone tell me,My 1992 f-250 4x4 460 does it have a roller cam? Lift and duration-stock? I would like to change it in the future and i am thinking about some sort of midrange cam since i tow with my truck.I figure the low end grunt is plenty.I also read something about cam bearing problems.
Any info and recommendations would be welcome.

There was never any big block O.E.M. Ford engine to come from the factory with any kind of roller cam equipment.

Supposedly Ford tried, but in testing found issues and decided against it for the application because of warranty and performance issues. At least that's what I was told years ago .

Cam? Empty roller cam

Thanks for the replys.I guess i read so much about newer engines all having roller cams.Maybe 1992 isn't that new! Maybe that will help keep the cost of a new cam down.I am not sure what makes roller cams so pricey but i have seen 600 bucks as a normal price for many roller cams.Now i just have to figure out what kind of cam is in my engine.I kinda figured it would be different to work with fuel injection.

The cam in your engine is a very mild ( under 200*s duration at .050) and a wide 116 or so lobe separation flat hydraulic lifter variety. Lift is around.450-.460. AS several mentioned hydraulic rollers in 460s never made it to production status.

OEM passenger car and truck cam specs:

193 / 206 / 113 LSA in on a 110 ICL when installed straight up as all EFI engines are. 118 ICL with the retarded timing sets. Shocked
.437" / .487" lift.
