spark plugs for 466 with 14 to 1 comp

Post  57ford custom on Wed May 24, 2017 6:16 pm

Hi guys I am looking for a spark plug heat range for my 466 14 to 1 drag car. It has iron cobra jet heads and flat tappet cam and I am looking for an NGK plug heat range number. I use 110 octane in this and the plugs in it now are very old autolite's. I just got it running for this year and it seems to have a little miss so gotta start somewhere.

IF it is kept below 180 degrees, A 7 or 8 depending upon if it is driving or racing.

The 8 is colder on NGK plugs. The colder the better with 14-1 on 110 octane.

I'm guessing if his operating temp gets above 180 he would need an even colder heat range?
