Reaction time

What could possibly going wrong in a tube chassis car besides the driver that would make the reaction times become slower and slower but the 60 foot and et stay the same. went from 1.085 now .975 and still cutting .115 lights. tried two different delay boxes with the same results.

How many passes do the slicks have on them? I'm not sure it would ever make that big of a difference, but I've noticed over the years that the sidewalls wear out long before the tire is out of tread. The first sign has always been reaction times getting inconsistent

Transbrake solenoid hanging up? Sticking? Transbrake button?

That's not it then. Transbrake/button/solenoid is a good suggestion. I'd look into that

I forgot all about a relay between the delay box and the transbrake solenoid. This could be the culprit, its just a 30 amp fog light relay I put in years ago to take some load off the delay box. I will delete it and try it out.

You havn't changed front tires by chance? Any thing that increases the travel in the front will increase your reaction time. Shocks worn allowing more movement.
Transmission pump pressure being low will change the way a converter hits. Low line pressure will cause it not to hit as hard to move the car.

I would definitely remove that relay. All you need between the delay box and the TB solenoid is a wire!

True. The tb solenoid probably only pulls an amp or two. Relays are for high amp loads.

What Maverick said - two coils in a solenoid, pull-in (which has a momentary fairly high draw) and the hold-in coil, which (like he said) only pulls an amp or so.

I found the problem. Transbrake solenoid sticking very bad. Wires at the solenoid were melted and plunger very hard to move.

Wait until you turn it loose now - RED lights for a while. Glad you found it.
