Just finished a 429 short block.

I thinking I could spin the oil pump and check the oil pressure, just insert the lifters and prime?

Would this work and if so what do I look for? Or do I need to install heads, pushrods and rockers and then prime?

TEST wont be real till you install heads,and all the valve train, and set the valves
