The bulges on the intake side of the covers, are for intake pushrod clearance on the high end heads such as the C-460, Pro-Filer and Thors. We are notching the valve cover gasket rail in that area, when we elongate for the intake pushrod holes.

Thanks Charlie,
I couldn't get an answer about that on another thread a while ago. Any idea when BT changed the design, as the pic on their web site shows a straight rail as with other engines i've seen using them?

I want one. Send me one with an aluminum radiator for Ellen's Mustang. I called today, but Shawn wasn't there........
Any chance this intake would work well on a pump gas 521 with SCJ's? Street Roller or FT cam built for lots of street miles in a 3200 to 3500 # car? Overkill???

I have a UCC converter now and it is somewhat tight behind my 460, but would loosen up behind a bigger motor. Gearing would be aimed at 2500-2800 @ 65 mph on the highway. This would be 90% street driven. If the intake is too much, I still need the radiator.

My goal is for the cubic inches and airflow to make up for a smallish cam. I will probably end up with a mismatched P.O.S. without some guidance.

Y'all know I want the impossible. 600 rpm idle, 20 mpg, AC on at all times, 9's in the quarter, and change the oil once a year. But of course I know life is full of compromises.

If this intake is not overkill, I will buy one from Shawn tomorrow.
I just got a raise........

Some times "we" need to forget about peak numbers and think more about average #s and part throttle performance. If I was doing what you wanting to do I'd install a moderatly loved on Torker II with a rock-n-roll 4150 & spacer. J.m.o.

Thanks for the replies Lem. I have a Torker II now on my 460, and an AED 950 HP. I'll still call for the radiator for Ellen tomorrow. She thinks that she should be able to ride around in the heat with the AC on.........

Depending on what browser you use search for a photobucket "add-on" and once loaded you will be able to view the pictures again.
