Tremec T56 with BBF
Hello,
Does anyone has experience with such setup - T56 to BBF?
Thinking about custom bellhousing. Quick Time is too expesive with shipping include.
Chevy guys has lot of opportunities with it...

In USA yes, but not in Russia). Even C6 is much harder to find than t56.dfree383 wrote:my thoughts, if you can afford the T56 the bell is the cheap part.
Shipping of the heavy parts it's pain.
So, looks like only one option - QT bellhousing.

Sometimes you just have to use what you can find locally. Years ago it was like that in the US as well. lol.
Is it just a street car and how much power are you making?

I like the manual transmission so much, but it's too complicated for BBF.

I have a McLeod SFI bell housing and Street Twin clutch for sale for a T56. I also have the Viper Spec T56 for sale as well. Very straight forward once you have the right parts. This was all set-up originally by D&D in Michigan.

McLeod bbf to T56
McLeod BBF to T-56 SFI Rated Bell adapter, 1/2” spacer, 2000 Camero LS1 long shaft BorgWarner T56 transmission. Was a fresh reman. Non-issue- clutch adapter plate (front plate of transmission assy.) is a Viper/Camero Retro-fit. Difference between others? The slave bolt pattern. Fords/Viper clocked opposite of GM. This being a GM shafted unit, the input shaft is longer than needed for Ford. Also the I/P shaft is larger and is not 10 splines. Hence the 1/2” spacer between bell adapter and clutch adapter. Also needed- shim for slave cylinder pedestal (had a couple turned from an aluminum round, stackable). Also used a Viper slave cylinder.
Ditched the bronze “press in” washer style bushing for pilot. Had a couple of bronze press fit sleeves for crankshaft hub to allow use of GM roller pilot bearing. I can swap the bell adapter out for SBF/V6 (pushrod engines) and it still works. Unfortunately, McLeod discontinued these adapters.
Reason for the LS1 T56? Needed the shifter as far back as I could get it. It is still about 1/2-3/4” forward of the original 5 speed shifter.
Have been told I can get a zero bal BBF flywheel with a Bolt in GM style clutch pattern with no mix and match components.
