Re: 1979 Ford F150 Drag Week Build
T&D steel rockers with spring oilers. One piece intake stands. Enough guys have issues with aluminum shafts on drag week that the steels just made sense. 900 would be awesome on 93, but more concerned with longevity on this deal even if sacrificing a little power is necessary. Can always step the program up in a few years.

Thank you, it is making progress, just slow progress. Hoping to start getting the headers done as soon as I get it in the truck, then onto wiring and plumbing. Never ending list.

The results are in for the engine.
Any guesses on what she made? Bringing in some details from the older post. 598 cubic inch big block Ford. A460 Heads and Trickflow intake (out of the box). Solid roller cam and bushed morel lifters. Single 4500 carb from PRC. 11:1 compression. 93 octane pump gas. Very simple build with some endurance upgrades like steel T&D shaft rockers.
Also, got the truck to a rough ride height so she is progressing. Need to get the front end aligned and that process is done. Still shopping what shock for the front and rear I want. Finished my switch panel using some nice buttons from Billet Buttons. BTE is finishing up the 1+2 TH400 and converter for the truck now. The she will be off for headers and I will be ready to plumb and wire her for the spring. Going to be a dash to make the first spring race pending the length of time in the chassis shop for the headers.

Thanks guys, ended up cresting the 900 hp mark and 800 TQ mark. A few small adjustments and changes and I believe she will crest the 4 digit mark. Still shooting for low 10’s as it sits.
