514 gapp and roush ?

I have a chance to buy or trade for a 429 scj (514ci.) the guy says it was built by gap and roush. Are there any identifying marks or a way to tell if Gapp and Roush built this short block? 4 bolt main DOVE A block. I haven't took a close look at it to see what crank, rods and pistons are in it. Im not familiar with there work.

I'm not aware of any, but Wayne and Jack split up about 40 years ago.....so it seems unlikely.

I know they split up a long time ago, its hard to find much info on what they were running. I know they were racing 429's and 460's. This guy is a stand up guy and has a lot of old hp ford stuff. I guess I will try to get more of the story from him.

the ones I have seen have a list on paper that came with them, most of them were BOSS nines. If its a real early one ?
prob have gap and r cast on the pistons. Some had just the ROUSH on the bottom,gap was ground off. This after the split

We were running all sorts of weird stuff back then.

6.710 six cylinder rods, modified 440 Mopar rods, high dollar pistons I wouldn't run in a lawnmower these days. We had a choice of stock or A460 heads, but not the A460 heads we have now....and that may have been before the A460.

Its legit, I have seen the paper work.
