Ford/Chevy rods

Can anyone explain any differences between a 6.8 inch rod designated for bbf or one for a bbc given the overall measurements of length, big end, and wrist pin are the same? Or is there no difference?

Depends upon the brand. With some high end rods for the Fords, the big end can be a tiny bit wider and the offset is slightly different but, most rods in the marketplace are the same.
