Re: 502 F350 engine
I would like to see what that engine combo would do in a small lightweight mustang.
The low end torque would be quite a challenge at the track.
With a C6, just leave it in gear and let it shift by itself.
Heck you could run fairly high rear gears, run respectable ET's and still be able to cruise.

I agree. I wonder how that would work in my '67 with a C6 and a 2.75:1 rear. 160 mph @ 5500 rpm.

Re: 502 F350 engine
I'm going to move this to the Proven engine build section.
I got looking for it the other day and couldn't find it because it was in the engine tech.

It is engine tech....but it'd be good in 'proven' also.

As soon as the headers get worked out we'll get the engine into the truck.

Would like to build this engine and put it in one of my 54 Lincolns
Lem,
This is an awesome engine! I have posted for help on 460ford.com asking for advise on what parts to purchase to build a 460, tranny, rear-end to put into a 1954 Lincoln. The Lincoln is stout, weighs 4250lbs stock, and has a welded and boxed X-frame stock from factory. I've seen two other 54's on the net with 460's in them but no contact info. just pictures. The stock 317 Y-block is heavy. A guy with a 53 in town claimed that when he put a 350 in his he took about 200lbs off the front of vehicle so the 460 should be able to be leveled out easy. If you would be willing to email me at michael.kendall@ymail.com or just pass on more details I would really like to build this. I'm willing to go more cubic inches in stroke with the same build if it makes sense. Here is the origional post with pictures: http://www.460ford.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147372&highlight=1954+lincoln Will I be able to use a stock C-6 tranny or will I need to get one of the high performance ones from a place such as summit?
Thanks,
Mike
