new to the site

Post  nada 50 on January 15th 2010, 4:04 pm

From the burbs of Chicago, been on 460ford.com for a while, came on here to check it out. I have been building an 89 notch for sometime now. Getting married and having a baby kinda prolonged the process. Well it's an 89 notch nothing crazy 98% street use. Hoping for mid 11's and I'd be happy even faster would be great, hopefully find out this spring/summer

Well I am very bad at trying to put pics on any website but I will try and get some.
I have something thats not really up to par with most. Crying or Very sad
It's only a 429 .030 over with trw pistons
out of the box Edelbrock cj's
2" primary headers 3" collector Sh@#*y Hookers will never use again Mad
custom hydraulic cam by Scotty's guy 240 int/248 exh, 580 int/591 exh 109.5 lobe sep
steath 8021 cj intake
850 or bigger carb, have not bought one yet
1.73 roller rockers
elec. water punp
msd ignition
built c-6 w/ 10" coan 3500 stall reverse manual
8.8 373 gear
28x10 mt

Do you guys think this set up would be good enough for mid 11's on stock style suspension? Well actually it is stock right now
89 notch no back seat, racing buckets, full dash

Will hopefully have a 514 or 521 in a couple years.
Would love blower or turbo but don't have the patience
Thanks for the welcomes

Thanks, yeah I know, I had different plans when started a while ago and then another change of plans. I was almost ready to ask you or Rich if you wanted to buy the headers. We had to cut a 1/4" off one of the slip tubes cause the tube was too long. Also had to drill the bolt holes cause the weld was too far into the bolt hole. Don't know if anyone else had either problem.

Yep years ago i bought a set of Kauffman brother headers and had some issues. Then i moved the motor back.

How fast you hope to go 11.something.MMMM you better pull a couple plug wires off.mine went 10.80
with a almost stock 460 dove heads flat tappet and a 850 all stock bottom end exept pistons that was
about 3300 with my big azz in it.Looks nice
